Etapa 7 - afinal andamos bem

Algumas secções de alcatrão e neste dia senti-me bastante bem... O lago tinha-me feito muito bem...

Stage 7, from Caldaro to Andalo, had 74,5km and 3000m of climbing. It was the last of the big ones and in our minds the end of the difficulties.

Even before starting we had good news. Has we checked our classement, what we were expecting happened. Finally we were starting from group C at the start. That should mean less people to overtake at the start of the stage. Team M&M and BTTeam also saw the same happening to them, but no without seeing their entry into group C blocked... The 6 of us ended up chating before the start whilst sitting on the grass. We were all enjoying a very relaxed atmosphere.

the first ascent was the main difficulty of this stage. But, our expectations of having to go by less people weren't met... No matter, what we really wanted was to keep our steady pace and enjoy the day. At the end of the climb still had time to see a familiar face, from de 2007 TransPortugal, Steven. Really he saw me, my memory is not what it was...

After that we started an area of several short up and downhills, as the spanish call them "rompe-piernas" in the Alps fashion, which ended up being the main component of this day. Changing from asphalt to dirt, I was actually feeling pretty good... My legs had really enjoyed the lake. Just at the very end we had another climb, this one with a very steep section where I had to walk. R.M. waited for me at the top and finished the day dragging me behind him on a long false flat (uphill) in wich I was thinking that if it didn't end soon, that would be the day when I would bonk. Luckilly Andalo was right after the corner.
