Só pode, pois na semana passada a D. veio-me com uma conversa que nunca pensei ouvir e que ela própria juraria anteriormente ser impossivel.
Ela está a planear passar a ir a pedalar para o trabalho. Mas não é um dia... É todos os dias que for trabalhar...
Percebem agora porque cheguei à minha brilhante conclusão. E estou seguro que concordam comigo.
A preparação está em planeamento e dia 18 de Outubro fomos tratar de algum reconhecimento de terreno. Ligamos Hammersmith a London Bridge.
Como de costume aproveitamos a tipica calma dos domingos de manhã para atravessar o coração de Londres, cruzando Hyde Park, The Mall e Westminster Square. Depois da rota turistica onde tivemos a pontaria de ver a Guards Changing Ceremony quando estavamos a passar.
A rota por Westminster no domingo pareceu-nos razoável, mas o A. entretanto falou com uma amiga que é "cycling instructor" e ela desaconselhou-nos vivamente. Já temos mais trabalho de casa...
Para compensar na margem sul do rio a rota já era por mim conhecida, com pior piso na parte final (paralelo) mas muito mais calma. Esta parte talvez se possa aproveitar.
Entretanto ando à procura de algum equipamento para ela poder fazer aquilo a que se propõe e fomos a uma loja chamada "On Your Bike" que me deixou muito bem impressionado, só é pena ser do outro lado de Londres...
Friends of mine, I have some very important news for all of us, THE WORLD IS GOING TO END VERY SOON.
Why?? Well, last week D. came up with a subject whicih I thought I'd never ear and that herself had sworn that would never happen.
She is planing to comute on her bike... But not just once in a while, every day...
You can now see why the end of the world has to come shortly. And surelly you do agree with me.
Preparations are undergoing and on the 18th of October we did our first route test, joining Hammersmith to London Bridge.
As usual, enjiying the quietness of sunday morning's we crossed the heart of London, through changing of he guards ceremony (the horse riden one) as we went through it.
This Westminster route seemed pretty reasonable on sunday but in the meantime A. has spoken to his "cycling instructor" friend and she strongly discouraged us to use it due to the Westminster bridge and roundabout. Seems we have aditional homework...
The last part of our route, on the south side of the river, was already known by me. It has some cobbleson it's last part, but is pretty quiet, we will probably keep that bit.
Also in preparation for it we are searching for some gear for the winter months and we went to ashop at Toooley Street called "On Your Bike". Very impressive... Just ashame that it is on the wrong side of town.
